Q: How far is the Solara Resort from downtown restaurants? A: Solara Resort is within a short walking distance of downtown Canmore, 1.10 miles. If you would like to get directions on MapQuest, the address of the Solara Resort is 191 Kananaskis Way, Canmore, AB T1W OA3 and the address of a local downtown restaurant, Quarry Bistro, is 718 Main Street, Canmore, AB T1W 2B6. Q: How far is the Solara Resort from the bike path along the river? A: The bike path along the river is approximately 2.0 km from the Solara Resort. Q: Parking: A: There is plenty of room in the underground parking area for 2 cars, you can park anywhere there is space. Q: Are there activities for children? A: There are many local play areas for children. A great one can be found if you drive down main street and then out towards the Nordic centre, park on the left after going over the Bow River and walk West along the river towards the large playing field and children's play area. Q: Are BBQ’s allowed? A: BBQ's are allowed in certain areas of Canmore but restrictions do apply, please check at the Tourist Information centre for up to date info. BBQ's are not allowed on the decks at Solara. Q: Are there recreation centres nearby? A: There are recreation centres in both Canmore and Banff. In addition, the Banff Hot Springs are fantastic! Q: May I bring my pet? A: The Solara Resort has a no pet policy; therefore, we are unable to accommodate your pet. Q: Is the Solara Resort still under construction? A: Landscaping is all complete, however the amenities will not be ready until next year. Our condos are on the 3rd floor (4th floor for 3 bed penthouse) of building 1 (Chinook) which all face South / West with great views of the Three Sisters and Rundle Mountain ranges. They all face away from the rest of the resort (buildings 2 & 3). You will therefore have no visibility of any remaining finishing or landscaping works. Q: What are the amenities available at the Solara Resort? A: The resort also has 35,000 sq ft of amenity area (theatre, spa, gym, restaurants etc) that is all finished externally but is still to be completed internally. These resort amenity areas are likely to be completed sometime in 2010.
